It’s been a goal of mine for what feels like forever to get in shape. Not lose weight. But get fit. Get toned. Gain endurance and muscle. I need to do something to keep up with these kids, man. They wear me out!
Last year I got into running. I hated and loved it at the same time. I hate the process of running. My lungs feel like they’re going to explode and my legs are like spaghetti but I LOVE the feeling afterwards. The endorphins high is real, people! So I ran two 5k marathons last year which is huge for me because I had surgery (C-section) last January and was pretty much sedentary for a good 3 months after giving birth. April came and I got at it with a vengeance!
This year, my fitness goals are a little different. My goal is to move my body every day for at least 30 minutes. Whether it’s a quick run, a workout at home, a cycle class or a Pilates class or even just playing outside with my kids.
Breaking a sweat once a day. That’s the goal!
So here I am, online shopping because, hello, it’s much more motivating to work out when you have new workout clothes and you’re looking cute, am I right?
I’m currently obsessing over all the cute athletic wear available right now and most of them are super affordable!
There are so many options out there for curvy women such as myself and I no longer have to feel self conscious about my body because thankfully most of them are quite flattering. I love my Nike Dri-Fit knit pants that are high-wasted and suck me in at just the right places (aka: mommy tummy). And I love this lightweight hoodie from Old Navy so much, I ordered another one in black. It’s so comfy, is the perfect length for me (covers my booty) and cost me less than $10!
It’s been so cold lately, especially in the mornings so my Canada Goose beanie keeps my head and ears super warm. It’s an investment piece but well worth it if you’re going to get a lot of use out of it and live in a city with colder climate. I can’t wait until our trip to Tahoe next month just so I can wear them.
What I’m Wearing:
LOFT Parka Jacket
Old Navy top
Nike leggings
Nike shoes (sold out, similar here and here)
Canada Goose Beanie
Once a day is also a goal of mine this year. Of course, I’ve already ailed a couple of days, but picking back up where you left off is the real trial, right? Good luck to you! You look great!
Oh I haven’t been consistent either but I’m trying! Thats what counts right? Thanks so much for stopping by!
Great goals! I am trying to do some sort of physical activity everyday, even if I don’t break a serious sweat. I want to walk at least 2.5 miles a day since I don’t get the normal “walking around an office” like most people.

2.5 miles is a great goal! Good luck to you! 🙂
Thank you!
Great goals. I am on a health kick right now too. My daughter just turned one and I am so tired of my mom body lol! I love the cute beanies too!
My daughter is turning 1 in a few days! I want to get my energy back. I’ve been so exhausted all year since having her and I’m ready to feel like myself again. A lot of it is my diet too. I love food!! :/
This is inspiring. I love how motivated you are to workout especially after csection to
running marathon. That’s very impressive. Your baby is adorable.
Aww thank you! I have good days and bad days where I just want to lay on the couch all day! Haha! My baby will be turning 1 in just a few days so I’m ready to hopefully I’ll be able to take her out more to exercise with me. Thanks for stopping by!
Love your outfit! Your goals are super realistic. Sweat every day- awesome!
Thanks so much! Some days are easier than others but I keep telling myself…at least 30 minutes!! 🙂
So cute! I totally agree, the cuter the workout clothes the more likely it is I’ll get my workout in.

Awww thank you so much! She is on the move so chasing after her is helping me get physical activity in. 🙂
Trying to maintain a healthier lifestyle this year too! I try for a workout 5 days a week to give me a little bit of wiggle room. Best of luck with your fitness goals this year!
Thanks so much! Good luck to you as well.
You go, girl! I’ve made some fitness goals for this year, too. So far so good, but here’s hoping I stick to them (#Slothlife). Sweating (at least) once a day is an amazing goal to work towards – You can do it!

I feel you! It is sooooo hard to get motivated sometimes! Thanks for the word of encouragement. 🙂
It’s awesome that you’ve listed your goals. That is a great step in keeping yourself on track. Keep up the good work! 🙂
Thanks so much! It’s so hard to stick to it but I just need to get out there! 🙂
Love your outfit and THOSE SHOES!!! I have heard great things about those Nike pants too! My birthday is next week, maybe I will gift myself a pair. I am right there with you really trying to stick to my fitness goals this year. Here’s to both of us accomplishing… wait crushing our GOALS!!!
First, Happy Birthday!!! And yes, you definitely must gift yourself something nice. 🙂 We can do this, mama!
Great goals! I love that it’s about getting fit and being healthy and not a number on the scale. Your workout clothes are super cute too!!
