I can’t believe Thanksgiving just came and went! And before we know it, it’ll be Christmas. It’s so true what they say,
“the days are long but the years are short“.
I look at my kids in awe because I can’t believe how much they have grown right before my eyes. I just want to soak up every little moment with them. As a mother, I want them to have the best childhood to look back on and create the most amazing memories with them so that they can instill the same traditions with their own families one day.
Having said that, Christmas is the event of the year!
We always get a head start when it comes to anything Christmas related. Our decorations are up the weekend after Halloween, I start Christmas shopping way before Black Friday and Christmas music is blasting in our house as early as October. You can say we (mostly me) are a little obsessed.
What can I say, Christmas gives me the warm and fuzzies and lets be honest we can all use a little warm and fuzzy, am I right?
Our Christmas decor is almost all up. The 7.5 foot pre-lit Christmas tree is complete and we just need to put the lights up outside our house and then we are done! We plan on doing that this weekend if it doesn’t rain.
My favorite corner of our house.
We don’t have a fireplace in our house but we do have a ledge leading up to our third floor so we decided to make use of it and display our decorations there. Some items I’ve had for years and others are new that I purchased recently at Home Goods. Man, I love that store. I could spend hours there!
Rowell added these lights he purchased at Target that are battery operated and has a built in timer. It adds a beautiful glow at night. We also put up family pictures from our family photoshoots this year and last.
We ordered the kids personalized stockings from Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland for less than $30 each. The quality is great and they have a variety of cute designs in different sizes. The stocking holders are from Amazon and we decided not to have them all be the same. We got a Christmas Tree, a reindeer, a snowflake and a pinecone.
It always makes me so sad when I have to take our Christmas decorations down, which is why its well after the New Year when we do. I know, please don’t judge! But they just bring me so much joy and makes my house look so festive. The house always feels so “naked” once they’re all taken down.
Have you started decorating this year? I’ve linked to some Christmas decorations below to get you inspired. There’s also a few that I’ve got my eye on!
