Wow! I feel like its been FOREVER since I’ve written a blog post. It’s been 3 months to be exact and life just kind of just took a different turn over here, but in a good way!
After we celebrated my son’s 6th birthday in May, I decided that I wanted to take the next few months to really spend quality time with him. He is growing up so fast and honestly I don’t even know where the past 6 years went! Life has been so busy for us these past few years that I feel like I needed to slow down and just enjoy every minute with my kids.
So thats what I did. During summer break, we went to parks, went for walks, had countless play dates with his friends and their moms, went to the movies, had picnics, went swimming, went site seeing and went to amusement parks.
And then there were days where we woke up at 10am, stayed in our pajamas eating pizza and watching movies all day.
It was THE BEST! Not having a plan was a little chaotic at times because my nature is to plan everything. So it was hard at first not having a schedule to follow but it was also really great letting the kids decide what our day was going to be like. If it was sit at home in our pjs, unshowered and messy hair kind of day, we did it. And honestly, those are the moments that I remember the most. Just cuddling up not the couch watching Trolls for the 10000th time. Inhaling their scent, stealing kisses and hugging them so tight.
Now that Gabriel is back in school (1st grade, YIKES how did that happen?!), and we are back on a schedule, I figure I’d dust the old blog and start writing again.
So here I am. Let’s see what the next few months has in store for me.
Oh and by the way, I became President of the PTA at Gabriel’s school. If you had told me five years ago that I would one day be a stay at home mom with two kids and President of the PTA I would have laughed in your face! It’s amazing how life can take you on so many twists and turns and how the things you swore you’d never do or be, you become. I never thought it would be so rewarding to volunteer and offer my skills, expertise and time for FREE but it is. It is so much more rewarding helping others and the community and not wanting or expecting anything in return. Try it sometime!
