Nothing screams Fall more than a good old pumpkin patch! I get so excited when I start seeing them getting set up the end of September. There is something about pumpkin patches that gets me so giddy. Perhaps its the feeling of being a kid again and to see that same excitement in my kids eyes makes me so happy. Or maybe its the reminder that you can find pleasures in the simplest things in life.
Whatever it is, it gives me the warm and fuzzies and I like.
Fall is in full swing although the weather doesn’t seem to get that concept here in the Bay Area. It was a whopping 85 degrees today (Sunday) and on Saturday the thermometer in my car read 95 degrees at one point! Despite the heat, we went to check out an event in San Jose called Pumpkins In The Park. It was located in the big grassy area outside of the Childrens Museum so there was plenty of room for the kids to run around. Upon arrival, Andy Z was on the main stage. If you’ve never heard of Andy Z, he’s like the Bruno Mars of children’s music. Haha! The kids just love this guy and he is quite entertaining. He does shows all over the Bay Area and he has a pretty big fan base.
In addition to Andy Z, there were other performances by local entertainers throughout the day. Gabe had fun playing the festival games and jumping around in the jumpy castles. They had a huge pumpkin patch area too which was great for photo ops and a large arts and crafts section designated for decorating your pumpkin. We also saw several food trucks but didn’t stick around to eat there because it was just too hot.
- Hole in one baby!
The weather is supposed to cool down in the next few days so I hope to take the kids to more pumpkin patches around the Bay Area.
