The Cosmopolitan Hotel is a trendy and hip luxury hotel located right in the center of the Las Vegas strip.
We were pleasantly surprised at the level of customer service provided by everyone from the housekeeping staff to Concierge. Security guards are scattered throughout the hotel and although they are quite strict (several times my son had to be reminded to not sit at the bar area which is next to the lobby area) they were very courteous and friendly. One of them helped me move all our luggage when I had my hands full with the baby.
Check-in at reception was easy, fast and efficient despite the long lines and our room was available as soon as we arrived.
The decor was very “Old Hollywood” and there was eclectic art pieces throughout the hotel and in our room such as this giant shoe that my son was very surprised to see!
We booked the City Room which is 460 square feet with 2 queen beds plus a rollaway crib that we requested. The room was spacious for our family of 4. The decor was modern and felt warm and inviting.
The bathroom was beautiful with marble countertops and a marble shower. There was plenty of room for more than one person to be in there. There are two sinks and a big space in between for toiletries, makeup and such.
I especially loved the comfy bathrobes that they provided.
There is a small refrigerator stocked with hotel beverages. You automatically get charged if you pick up a beverage so be careful. There is barely any space in the fridge for your own drinks or food.
The room had a large desk and leather chair along with a seating area right by the floor-to-ceiling window perfect for watching the fountain show at the Bellagio.
The view from our room was fantastic!
By the entrance lies an ottoman where you can store bulky items such as bags, shoes, etc… so its not in your way. Just don’t forget to get your things before you check out like we almost did!
There are 3 pools at the Cosmopolitan: Marquee, Boulevard and Bamboo. I highly recommend the Bamboo pool for those with kids. It is the most appropriate and family friendly out of the three.
Order a Moscow Mule! It is the most delicious Moscow Mule I’ve ever tasted.
Every Monday during the Summer, they have Dive In Movies where they play classic to modern films. Movies start promptly at 7:30pm and are free for hotel guests. The pool was pretty crowded the day we went and the movie watched was Zoolander.
I had full intention of working out at the fitness center but that just didn’t happen. From what I saw, it was super nice from the outside and very clean with the latest and greatest machines. There are also tennis courts at the hotel which I didn’t get a chance to see.
The spa and salon was gorgeous on the outside. Again, because of our hectic schedule and the kids, I was unable to get away for a massage but next time for sure I need to make the time. The salon was so inviting! The Violet Hour Salon is a place to get dolled up before a big night in Vegas.
There is a good variety of restaurants from low key, casual dining to a more upscale experience.
Restaurants we ate at the Cosmopolitan were:
- Eggslut
- China Poblano
- Holsteins
- Va Bene Caffe
- Starbucks

We do not gamble and our party days are long gone but we still had a relaxing and enjoyable time at The Cosmopolitan Hotel.
We highly recommend this hotel if you want an upscale and trendy Las Vegas vibe with a family friendly feel.
