Transitioning into fall in the Bay Area brings new family adventures.
I woke up this morning to the cool, crisp chill in the air and I instantly got excited for my favorite season of the year, Fall. Living in San Diego for 10 years, I didn’t really experience different seasons like I did in Canada. It was always around 65-75 degrees throughout the year give or take (I know, woe is me!) and while I absolutely loved the weather in San Diego, I did crave the change in season, especially towards the end of summer.
Now that we’re in the Bay Area, the weather tends to be cooler in the Fall and Winter months and warmer in the Spring and Summer months.
One of the many things I love about the Fall season is that the colors of the leaves begin to change which signals that the holidays are just around the corner. This makes me a giddy school girl because I absolutely love the holidays! It also means trips to the pumpkin patch, comfort foods, leaves falling, pumpkin spiced everything and cozy knits and comfy sweaters.
Fall is my favorite season for fashion. I love the coats, boots, oversized cardigans, leggings, sweaters and scarves because they are just so comfy to wear. What’s great is you can transition your summer finds (which I have a lot of since I just took advantage of end of summer sales) into Fall quite easily. All you need are the essentials like a jean jacket, long cardigan, tall boots, booties, leggings and tunics. Then you can play around with what you have in your closet. I love pairing a summer dress with a cascading sweater. Its so simple and easy especially in the earlier months of Fall where the afternoons still tend to get pretty warm.
If you were to peek in my closet, you’ll see a mix of classic styles, latest trends, luxury brands and major steals. Overall, the first thing I look for is comfort. As a mom of two, I’m constantly on the go and need pieces that are going to withstand the active lifestyle we have.
