Las Vegas has so many amazing restaurants owned by famous chefs from all over the world. The challenge is always finding enough time and money to eat at all those places!
We ate at a variety of places during our stay in Las Vegas. Here are the 7 places we ate at with our kids.
1. Lotus of Siam
Location: East Sahara Ave. (off the strip)
What we had: Crab fried rice, garlic shrimp, drunken noodles with crispy duck and mango with sticky rice.
This is hands down THE BEST THAI FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! I’m not a huge fan of Thai food nor is it something I typically crave but oh my goodness this place was incredible!!!!
The restaurant is off the strip in what looked like a run down deserted strip mall. Don’t let that deceive you (or scare you). When we opened the door to the restaurant, it was bustling with people and there were huge crowds waiting patiently for their table. We made reservations well in advance so we were seated right away.
Our dishes ranged from $20-28 each (dessert was around $10) which are not prices I’m used to for thai food but trust me when I say it was worth every penny!
TIP: MAKE RESERVATIONS!
Do yourself a favor and go here next time you are in Vegas. Believe me, you will not be disappointed and you will thank me. You are welcome!
2. China Poblano
Location: Cosmopolitan Hotel
What we had: Golden pigs, 18 monk noodle, twenty vegetable fried rice, Enmolada de Mole Negro con Bistec (grilled hanger steak/mole Chichilo negro/ fresh tortillas).
This casual Chinese/Mexican fusion restaurant by Chef Jose Andres is a little on the pricey side but all the dishes that we ordered were bursting with flavor and had their own unique twist to it. We sat outside the restaurant and had a great view of the chefs making fresh pasta and dumplings through the window. We sat in front of the “Asian” side and on the other side, fresh tortillas were being made.
The service was friendly and prompt and we very much enjoyed our meal. My son devoured the golden pigs and asked for more!
TIP: ORDER SOMETHING WITH FRESH NOODLES. YOU CAN REALLY TASTE THE DIFFERENCE!
3. Holsteins Shakes and Buns
Location: Cosmopolitan Hotel
What we had: Sliders and fries, turkey burger protein style with sweet potato fries, classic burger with fries and complimentary pizza flavored popcorn.
The restaurant provided prompt and friendly service. Our waiter was super attentive and checked in on us frequently. They give out complimentary pizza flavored popcorn to each table and along with their yummy burgers they have a great selection of craft beers, cocktails, wine and of course shakes. Sadly, we didn’t get to try the shakes but noticed that a lot of other restaurant patrons were ordering them.
Holsteins is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the Cosmopolitan and is a great option for a casual sit down lunch with or without the kids.
4. Secret Pizza Parlor
Location: Cosmopolitan Hotel
What we had: Pepperoni pizza, white pizza and cheese pizza. It is New York style pizza and costs $5 per slice.
The secret is that there is no name for this place nor is it listed on the website of the Cosmopolitan hotel but its really not that hidden. Located on the 3rd floor, you will see a long hallway with pictures on the wall and ceiling and at the end is the pizza parlor.
They have old school pinball machines and a Gataga video game machine that you can play with while you wait for your pizza.
TIP: AVOID GOING THERE AROUND THE TIME THE NIGHT CLUB (MARQUEE) CLOSES OR BE PREPARED TO WAIT IN LINE.
5. Eggslut
Location: Cosmopolitan Hotel
What we had: Egg, bacon, cheese sandwich, egg, turkey sausage, cheese sandwich, and cold black coffee.
I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since I heard about the location in Los Angeles and mostly because the name of the establishment is “Eggslut”.
There is usually a long line in the morning but the day we went we only waited in line for about 10 minutes which isn’t bad. They make it fresh so there is a bit of a wait after you place your order, about another 10 minutes.
The sandwiches are served on a brioche bun and very delicious and flavorful. It’s about $8 for a sandwich and their famous “slut” is $10. My coffee cost $5 which I thought was pricey for plain black coffee but it was very good. I had it iced, black with no sugar and cream and it wasn’t bitter at all.
If you are lucky enough to score a seat at the small restaurant, take it. Otherwise, its mostly a take-out joint.
TIP: THE EGG IN THE SANDWICH IS RUNNY SO GET EXTRA NAPKINS!
6. Sushi Way
Location: Paradise Rd. (off the strip)
What we had: All kinds of sushi rolls, nigiri and Japanese specialties. We paired it with a cold bottle of sake.
This place is legit! I often stray away from buffets or all-you-can-eat restaurants because I find that the quality of the food is lacking but this place delivered!
I mean common, $26.95 for all you can eat sushi? That is a steal for the quality and assortment of sushi and Japanese dishes they had to offer. My only wish is that I didn’t get so full so fast so I can eat more.
TIP: TRY AND SAVE YOUR APPETITE SO YOU CAN TRY AS MANY DISHES AS YOU CAN BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS.
7. Jean Philippe Patisserie
Location: Bellagio
What we had: Mint chocolate chip gelato and pistachio gelato. The 2 gelato’s we ordered was one scoop in a cup which cost us a little under $10 for both.
There are so many great things about this place. Chef Jean Philippe is a World Pastry Champion, there is a chocolate lady made of 33 pounds of chocolate and took 150 hours to create, and they have a floor-to-ceiling chocolate fountain which is the worlds largest chocolate fountain. Even if you don’t order anything, it’s a sight to see.
