Cue James Brown’s, “I feel good!“
Week two was waaaaay better than week one! I’m not as hungry, I have way more energy and I’m actually getting used to cooking and eating clean.
The first week, I was like “what am I going to eat? I have nothing to eat!!!? What the hell is ghee?” And basically wondering what I was going to eat at my next meal every.second.of.the.day. Now, I feel like I have a handle on it. It’s like the training wheels are ready to come off, people!
By day 10, I had some pep in my step! I went to Costco and got a ton of organic, all-natural meats and veggies. And while my bank account definitely took a hit, I don’t feel so bad about spending so much because it has changed the way I feel and the way I look at food. And I’m just on week two.
I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of organic, gluten-free and all-natural options at Costco. Which goes to show you that our society is getting more and more conscious about what they put in their bodies and feed their families. It’s no longer the cheaper the better. Now people are willing to spend double the price for chicken if its free-range, antibiotic free. It’s actually really motivating to see. Although there are still so many goodies at Costco that I had to turn a blind to and it was so hard. (Lacey’s anyone?)
What keeps me going and stopping me from cheating are the changes that I’m feeling happening to my body. Not on the outside, because I don’t think I’ve lost any weight yet (rule of Whole 30 is do not weight yourself until the end) but the inside.
I have so much more energy, I feel lighter and no longer have food coma after every meal, which is great!
Rowell however weighed himself (he’s a rebel like that) and he has lost 4 pounds in one week! That’s crazy! And he cheated by having two drinks with some friends. That guy. SMH.
Anyway, I can’t wait to meal plan and prep for week 3.
OMG, who am I?
I’ve become one of those people I used to laugh at while feeling like crap and munching on chips. Pssshhh, have fun eating your healthy crap! Life’s too short! Blah Blah Blah!
Well, I am now eating my words.
Whole 30 is rough but its one of the best detox diets out there. I love to hate the Whole30. 🙂 Grats on your progress and sending you well wishes on finishing!
Girl, you said it…it is ROUGH! I cannot imagine people doing this for more than 30 days! :/
